1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the VirtualShell Android application developed by CyberKhan8 Consulting LLC. VirtualShell is an interactive Linux terminal simulator and training platform designed to operate locally on your Android device. We respect user privacy and are committed to protecting personal data.

 

2. Information Collection and Processing

Personal Data: VirtualShell does not collect, request, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your real name, email address, phone number, or physical location.

Username Preferences: The app allows you to set a display username for the virtual terminal prompt (defaulting to "user"). This username is saved exclusively on your local device.

Terminal Data & File System: Your terminal progress, completed lessons, preferences (font size, color themes), and virtual file system state are generated and stored strictly on your local device.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Frameworks: Although unused software library configurations for AI exist within the build files, VirtualShell makes no outgoing AI API calls. All lesson evaluations, command completions, and terminal outputs are hardcoded and processed locally on your device.

 

3. Data Storage and Retention

All application data is saved locally on your Android device using internal SQLite databases (Room), SharedPreferences, and internal application storage (vfs_state.json). We do not host or operate remote databases or cloud servers to sync or back up your data.

 

4. Data Control and Deletion Rights

You maintain full control over your local data stored within VirtualShell:

In-App Data Purge: You can permanently delete all local application data, lesson progress, and virtual file system states at any time by navigating to the terminal settings panel in the app and selecting the "DANGER ZONE" reset option (Reset All).

System Storage Removal: You can clear all app data or uninstall VirtualShell through your Android device settings (Settings > Apps > VirtualShell > Storage > Clear Data), which instantly removes all stored files and preferences.

 

5. Third-Party Libraries and Frameworks

VirtualShell utilizes standard development libraries for app execution and security (such as Android Jetpack Compose and Firebase App Check components). The application does not integrate third-party advertising frameworks (e.g., AdMob), behavioral analytics trackers, or user profiling tools.

 

6. Children's Privacy

VirtualShell is an educational tool suitable for general audiences. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

 

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted to this page with an updated "Effective Date."

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the HashNotes Android application developed by CyberKhan8 Consulting LLC. HashNotes is a local note-taking application that organizes notes chronologically using hashtags and supports text (.txt) and PDF exporting.

 

2. Information Collection & AI Disclaimer

Personal Data & Accounts: HashNotes does not require user registration or account creation. The application operates anonymously without collecting account credentials, emails, or user profiles.

User Content: The notes, titles, tags, and file exports created within HashNotes are stored locally on your device.

No External Data Processing or AI Services: HashNotes operates fully offline. There are no active connections or API requests to external AI models (such as Google AI Studio or Gemini). Your notes and content are never transmitted off your device.

 

3. Data Storage and Local Management

Local Database: Note entries, titles, and hashtag metadata are stored locally on your device via an internal SQLite database (Room).

Local Filesystem: Notes are also saved as individual .txt files in your device's internal storage or a designated directory.

Remote Servers: HashNotes does not host user notes, history, or metadata on external cloud databases (such as Firestore or PostgreSQL).

 

4. Data Deletion Rights

You have complete control over deleting your content:

In-App Note Deletion: Using the in-app deletion action within the note editor permanently removes the selected note from the local Room database and deletes the corresponding .txt file from your device storage.

Complete App Wipe: To erase all notes and app data simultaneously, uninstall HashNotes or select Clear Data under your Android device settings (Settings > Apps > HashNotes > Storage > Clear Data).

 

5. Third-Party Services

HashNotes relies on standard development libraries to function (e.g., AndroidX Jetpack Compose, Retrofit/OkHttp for internal data handling, and Firebase App Check for security). HashNotes does not contain third-party advertising SDKs (e.g., AdMob), crash reporters, or behavioral analytics tracking services.

 

6. Children's Privacy

HashNotes is intended for general audiences and does not target or knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.
